Work Ethic

“Just work harder”

I can’t tell you how many times I heard this growing up when i would inquire as to how to make more money.

I do not agree with this as the wealthiest people in America seem to have time to enjoy their wealth as well.  I’m not saying they are not full of hustle, they absolutely are.  Though at a certain point as I have already discussed, you get to a point with wealth that your money begins making money for you, and becomes your best and most productive employee.  This allows you the freedom to not always have to grind if you choose to slow down, some do, some don’t.

The idea of working harder to make more money still only works so much as long as you are trading money for time, there are only 24 hours in a day…. if you were to work all of those hours then that is the highest possible amount you can make with the working harder theory, and that’s with no food, no breaks, and no sleep, oh and also no family time…. not a very good system

I had some friends who thought this way begin a venture in a unique business.  They are wheelchair ramps memphis tn.  They worked their butt off but are finally reaping hte rewards of not having to any longer trade their time for money

I believe in working smarter, sometimes that means that there are times to haul, and it qualifies as working harder.  But my goal would be to continue to find ways to make my effort worth more to someone.  Whatever that effort is in, doesn’t matter as much to me.

Money Money Money

They say the love of money is the root of all evil.

And that money doesn’t buy happiness…..

I don’t know.  People wiht yachts and jets seem pretty happy most of the time to me.  Maybe the grass is always greener  though, and I assume a certain kind of wealth comes wiht its own set of problems.  Like always wondering whether or not your friends like you for you or if its because of your money and things.

I have never been a proponent of money ruling one’s life or even having a high place of importance in it, however there is something that I have come to realize lately.

We all have skillsets, and we are all good at something, or muultiple things.

What’s the difference in skillsets that brings one person $1000 a week, as opposed the bringing another person $10000 a week.

The answer is very little.  Now obviously some people just don’t have any business sense but the reality is that we have all been trained growing up that a career means that we trade our time for money.  Which makes the goal then to land a career that values that time higher so we can make more per hour of work.  Of course all of these “jobs” will have an earning cap that you will reach sooner or later.

So I must ask this, it seems to me that once you break free from this mentality that making money can kind of snowball.  You bankroll yourself with $100, turn it into $1000, turn the $1000 into $10000.  Now make that into $10000 a month and so on and so forth.  You are playing the same game of multiplication and as time goes by and you get more keen at the game then the stakes get higher and your cash flow and capital gains continue to increase.  It take the same amount of effort if not more actually to get from the intial $100 to $1000 as it will between $10000 and $100,000.

So why don’t more of us look at money this way, why do so many of us become so complacent with trading our time for a limited amount of money.  Money that won’t last as the value of it continues to decrease, inflation continues to rise.  You keep working more hours, but are not getting paid any more and your debt keeps going up.  Every year that goes by your margin for creating savings gets thinner and thinner and there is no long term sercurity in the middle class.

How can you make more money this month, and not spend it, but bankroll it into something more?  What skills can you use to not trade skills for money, but get paid to employ?

The Long Game

The Long Game is important, and becoming increasingly harder to stay focused on.

In an incresing world of speed, information, and on demand, our brains are becoming more and more trained for the here and now.  Instant gratification has never been more popular and it will be increasing with each generation.

70% of Americans that are not in poverty, are living paycheck to paycheck.  That is what the middle class has become.  It is no longer a place to be desired, and it has no long term security.

Though that statistic is asotnishing on it’s own, it has also never been easier to make money than in today’s technological world.  Just because budgets keep getting tighter and the middles class keeps getting squeezed doesn’t mean spending has stopped.  Credit Cards take care of that for us.  There were over 300,000 new Millionaires last year alone.  How can that be right?!

Complacency, and not playing the long game has most of hte American public in a bad way.  With no long term play and no future and no setup for their kids.  Getting the kids through college has been the biggest push but after that…. no plan…. pay off the college lol.  That’s the blue collar mentality.

Pull yourself up by the boot straps and watch the video below and let’s see if we can find some wealth together.

Get Rich Quick

Getting rich quick…. It’s part of the American Dream isn’t it….

We have all been sold on this in our childhood, that we can be as successful as we want to be…. that we can be anything we want to be…. that we can grab the moving target of however “success” is defined at that time.

Don’t misunderstand me now.  I am a firm believer of “anything can happen”.  But often times we attribute overnight success to far more people than it actually applies to.  Most people that are successful did not get that way overnight, they will all tell you that.  They will all say that it took countless long nights, countless days, months, years, failures, trials, hustle, hustle, and more hustle!!  Other than a lottery winner or someone that hits it big in Vegas, people do not become overnight successes…. it only seems that way sometimes because one day we don’t know a person and the next they are everywhere.  That doesn’t mean they are overnight successes, it just means you haven’t heard of them prior and then your eyes are opened.

Here at Mplaya we are going to talk about what it takes to be a playa…. talk about hustle, talk about business, and talk about the American F’n Dream!
